Meet Jack Bohman:

In hindsight, the formation of Bohman Thayer Real Estate was inevitable. Despite schooling, working and traveling far and wide, the calling to be in Chatham full time has proved to be too strong. Chatham has always been home and few realtors know Chatham and the Lower Cape more thoroughly. 

Prior to the formation of Bohman Thayer Real Estate, Jack was a top producing sales agent at John C Ricotta and Associates.  From 2006 - 2008, Jack was responsible for over $30 million in real estate transactions in Chatham, Harwich and Orleans and has established himself as one of the elite agents in Cape Cod real estate.

Bohman honed his service and project skills as a fifteen year professional in the private golf club industry.  Jack was a key player on the management teams that developed, built and operated three respected and successful high-end country clubs: Cape Cod National in Brewster, Black Rock Country Club in Hingham, and the Bay Club in Mattapoisett. 

His role as the VP of Sales and Marketing at the Bay Club in Mattapoisett solidified his affinity for real estate sales and proved to be a terrific vehicle for Jack to channel his competitive discipline, service training, and management and operations experience into real estate sales and high-end home new home construction.  From 2003 – 2005, Jack generated over $30 million of residential land and construction sales at the Bay Club.    

Jack and his wife, Sally Munson-Bohman, live in Chatham and are raising two young sons, Mackenzie and Lane.  Both boys attend the Chatham School System.  Sally’s family has summered here her entire life.  Together, Jack and Sally own and operate the Munson Gallery on Main Street in Chatham. It is the Cape’s oldest art gallery.  They are especially proud of the fact that Sally represents the fourth generation of Munson’s in the family business which was founded in New Haven, CT in 1860. The Munson Gallery opened in Chatham fifty-five years ago.

Jack’s family moved to Chatham in 1966 and his parents still live and work in town today.  After attending the Chatham schools through ninth grade, Jack graduated from Deerfield Academy in 1977 and the University of Virginia with a B.A. in History in 1981.  Jack and Sally are members of Eastward Ho! Country Club, the Chatham Beach and Tennis Club, Stage Harbor Yacht Club and the Chatham Paddle Tennis Association.  On any given Saturday or Sunday morning in the spring and fall, you are likely to see Jack and Todd Thayer coaching youth soccer on some Cape Cod soccer field.

Jack’s passion and joy in playing and teaching the game of golf has taken him all over the world.  Jack’s first development assignment was launching Golf Digest’s Teaching Academy in Hong Kong in 1992.   As a college golfer and PGA Member, Jack has won numerous golf awards and competed in tournaments on three continents and eight different countries. In 2003, Jack was rated by Golf Digest as one of the top fifteen golf instructors in Massachusetts and he has former students he mentored from their junior golf days who are currently competing on the PGA, LPGA and Nationwide Tours.  He is a frequent contributing writer to Golf on Cape Cod Magazine. He is a five-time club champion at Eastward Ho! Country Club and at one time held the course record of 64. Twice he has been named the Cape Cod PGA Player of the Year.

It has always been Jack’s goal to raise his family and live full time in our lovely seaside community and own his own real estate company.  We are thrilled and honored to have Jack’s engaging personality, polished skills, leadership, breadth of experience and local knowledge and perspective to the team at Bohman Thayer Real Estate.
